condition: sculpture in excellent condition.
a wonderful sculpture made of glazed terracotta, depicting the bust of a young boy with a hat, the classic neapolitan street urchin. The work is titled "the birichino." created in the impressionist style in the late 19th century by the italian sculptor medardo rosso, one of the most important impressionist sculptors of the 19th century. The patina is beautiful and evident throughout the sculpture, especially under the base, perfectly consistent with our dating. The work is signed by the artist with a metal nib directly on the clay "m. Rosso."
