Exquisite Art Nouveau sculpture of a lady holding a casket, created by French artist Louis Octave Mattei (1877-1918). Crafted in pewter, signed Lo. Mattei, this elegant sculpture measures 34 cm in height and exemplifies the flowing lines and organic motifs of the Art Nouveau movement.
The piece is in very good condition.
The artist is referenced in authoritative literature including Etains 1900 by Philippe Dahan and The Paris Salons 1895-1914 by Alistair Duncan.
