this beautifully proportioned pendant features a sleek, bowler hat–inspired silhouette crafted in opal aubergine glass. michael bang (1942–2013), son of holmegaard’s first creative director jacob e. Bang, was one of denmark’s most accomplished 20th-century glass designers. His works for holmegaard — ranging from lighting to tableware — remain among the company’s most celebrated designs. The sonate pendant perfectly reflects his refined sense of form and light.
holmegaard, founded in 1825 and today part of the rosendahl group, has collaborated with some of denmark’s most important designers, including jacob e. Bang and per lüttken. The sonate lamp stands as a classic example of the brand’s enduring craftsmanship and design legacy.
