Century Chinese 2-tier folding table with 2 scalloped rim round brass trays with matching engraved designs. Each with the character for "happiness" in the center surrounded by elaborate designs featuring birds & flowers. Unusually made in the former British Territory of Hong Kong.
The bentwood red lacquer frame is finely hand carved with 'bamboo buds' on the legs, and this folds up for easy storage or shipping. This handy drinks or side table is in its' original condition with rich patina. We have not over polished it. If a shinier finish is required we recommend good old fashioned salt and lemon. Fast and quick, and environmentally friendly.
Each tray is marked "Made in Hong Kong" on the underside and can be used separately if needed. Tables like this have not been made in HK for some time, and are themselves a little piece of history from this former colony.
Condition is very good with typical signs of age including tarnish and discoloration in places.
