Eva Martino (b. 1929) Hand Carved Biomorphic Wood Sculpture, Signed (ca. 1960). Stippled signature at the side of the base. In good condition with wear consistent with age. The splits and cracks are conducive to the nature of the material.
Size: 18'' x 10'' x 8.5'' (46 x 25 x 22 cm).
Born in Philadelphia, Martino studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts summer program in Yellow Springs in Chester County, Pennsylvania. She was the wife of Giovanni Martino, a painter who came from a family of artists.
