These 4 chairs have the original fully functional metal mechanism to fold the chairs with a simple metal handle under the front apron of the seat (see pictures of the underside of the seat). You just squeeze the handle forward and the chair will fold. The chairs are solid hardwood and are very sturdy and comfortable. The original vinyl upholstery can be easily reupholstered if you want. They vinyl is in perfect condition except for on corner on one chair (see photo #4). The original wood finish is has been naturally distressed with use and age. See less
