Trained by his father, Auböck V has incorporated the celebrated Werkstätte heritage, as well as his training in architecture and building, to produce this hand-made piece. Inspired by the metaphor of the horizon, the L136M "Horizont" lamp projects warm light throughout a space. It creates intimate lighting put onto a table, generous light as a floor lamp.

Like many of the now-collectible first-generation Auböck objects designed by his great-grandfather Carl Auböck III, this lamp is also hand-formed brass. Brass plates are stretched, shrunk and rolled over Biedermeier forming tools. In this process, changes in the structure of the material shape fractal lines in the lighting screen, resulting in unique reflections off the brass surface. Every lamp is punched, numbered and matched to a brass light screen, creating an unique approach to industrial design by hand-forming metal, echoing the Werkstätte’s now-famous"tree trunk tables.”
