two … Read more A rare, modernist smoker's set from the 1950s, most likely manufactured in Germany or Czechoslovakia.
The set consists of:
two ashtrays on three legs,
a central spherical container for cigarettes.
The form is clearly inspired by the atomic/Sputnik aesthetic characteristic of mid-20th century design. The slender metal legs are finished with original cream-colored feet. The set is finished in an attractive green enamel with metal rims.
The central spherical element with holes is particularly decorative and rarely found in sets of this type.

Condition: good vintage condition, natural patina and signs of use appropriate for its age
