This French antique workbench dates from around 1900 and retains its authentic utilitarian character.
Originally crafted as a craftsman’s bench, it features a substantial 75 mm thick solid beech top with a naturally worn surface developed through decades of practical use. The patina and visible tool marks reflect its functional past and contribute to its sculptural presence.
The base and legs are constructed from solid beech and oak, providing structural stability. The bench is fitted with a traditional wooden spindle in chestnut.
A lower slatted shelf adds practical storage while reinforcing the architectural balance of the piece.
with its narrow depth and generous width, the workbench adapts well as a console table, kitchen island, or bathroom vanity, while maintaining its original workshop identity.
