This abstract painting is by well known and listed artist Vladimir Prodanovich (Yugoslavia, b. 1952), who painted it in 2006. Measuring 33.5” high X 28.25” wide X 2.75” deep. Signed along the bottom (in his typical style in white behind like green and cobalt blue paint). It should be pointed out that, this painting is one of the artists earlier works and therefore is highly desirable.
This painting is on wood, with his signature application of tar then applied acrylic and oil paints. His unique style of painting includes drips and splashes and somehow the end result is dramatic and meaningful, topped off with a remnant wood board. A wire is attached for easy and immediate hanging. This art is not framed, nor should it be. The three sides are painted appropriately as shown in the additional photos section.
In 1983, Prodanovich immigrated to the USA and first settled in Philadelphia. As a self-taught artist he exhibited his paintings at gallery Brera on South St.. He also worked as a billboard painter for The Theater Center of Philadelphia. He was immediately influenced by graffiti art that was all over that town, and in a way he transformed that into his paintings.
In 1986, Prodanovich moved to California and settled in Laguna Beach. He exhibited in many galleries including, Gallery 224, Marion Mayer Contemporary Art, Denise Roberge Gallery in Palm Desert and Soho Gallery LA in Studio City and Colin Fisher Studios in Cathedral City, CA.
Today his paintings and sculptures are in many collections around the country and beyond. This painting would be perfect in your home or office and is guaranteed to be a conversation piece when added to your art collection for sure.
