The large mirrors rendered with a painted … Read more A sublime pair of sculptural faux-bois mirrors featuring branch, twig, and knot frames. The large mirrors rendered with a painted whitewash finish in the Organic Modern taste after John Dickinson (American 1920-1982). Each mirror is constructed of a shaped cut mirror plate fit into the organic cartouche shaped frames, with a branch element spanning across the middle for added depth, dividing the mirror into two segments. The frame features a peaked crown and a tooled surface to imitate bark striations, knots and irregularities. The frame is painted in a chalky white finish with a subtle intentional rub-through to reveal natural warm undertones of the wood frame. The mirrors have a dramatic presence and scale measuring nearly 5 feet tall. Made in the manner and style of John Dickinson. Provenance: From River Ranch, The Carole Harris Collection, design and installation guided by Parish-Hadley Assoc. (Sister Parish) and influenced by both Ann Getty and Carole Harris. Sold as a pair. No affixed label.
