The Artistry
A beautiful hand-pulled woodblock reproduction of Utagawa Hiroshige’s "Oji Inari Shrine," Plate No. 18 from his 1857 masterpiece series, One Hundred Famous Views of Edo. This serene composition captures the most important Inari shrine in Eastern Japan during the first month of the lunar year, a time of major pilgrimage. The view is framed by blossoming plum trees and features a dramatic, plunging perspective of the valley below.
Technical Details
Medium: Authentic hand-pulled woodblock print.
Paper: Traditional Handmade Japanese Washi. The distinct fibrous texture of this paper allows for the deep ink saturation and classic "bleed-through" on the reverse, a signature of quality hand-printing.
Artist: After Utagawa Hiroshige (1797–1858).
