The artwork mirror is titled "Au Revoir" and it is a famous Art Deco fashion illustration by the French artist George Barbier.
"Au Revoir" (meaning "Goodbye" in French).
Artist: George Barbier (1882–1932), a leading French illustrator and designer during the Art Deco era.
He did illustrations for Vogue magazine, as well as other luxury fashion publications like La Gazette du Bon Ton and Journal des Dames.
George Barbier (1882–1932) was well known for his elegant, highly stylized depictions of contemporary fashion, often drawing inspiration from historical costumes and mythology to portray the modern, glamorous woman of the Parisian elite. His works are considered a key part of the Art Deco movement.
The original illustration was created around 1920 or 1924.
It was originally a colored pochoir (a stencil-based printing technique) and was featured as a fashion plate in an album by Barbier, with engravings by Henri Reidel.
The piece highlights the style and stroke of the Art Deco era, depicting a glamorous, Parisian scene of a guest in evening dress waving as she leaves a party by car. Barbier was known for his ornate and luxurious style, capturing the fashion and spirit of the 1920s.
