Anglepoise desk lamp in cream, designed by George Carwardine in 1934. Features characteristic conical shade with rolled bottom edge, square-section arms, and four-spring constant-tension mechanism. The rolled edge detail is specific to the 1227 specification, distinguishing it from later models.
The base has been replaced with a round base, likely from a later Anglepoise Model 90, rather than the original two-tier stepped base. This modification is common in long-working vintage Anglepoise lamps. The shade and arm assembly remain original 1227 components. This piece has an attribution mark,
