This model … Read more The iconic lc4 chaise longue, designed by le corbusier, pierre jeanneret, and charlotte perriand, is produced by cassina. This model is considered one of the most important pieces of seating and reclining furniture of the 20th century and exemplifies the functional purism of modernism. The freely gliding reclining surface allows for individual adjustment of the sitting and resting position. This particular version features the classic chrome-plated tubular steel frame with elastic upholstery, mounted on a black lacquered base. The upholstery is finished in white leather and contrasted by a black, cylindrical headrest. This color combination creates a deliberately graphic, austere, and architectural effect, reinforcing the original character of the design. White leather upholstery is considerably rarer than black or dark leather versions and is particularly prized for bright, modern interiors. The underside of the frame bears the original cassina stamp, along with the production number 15191. Based on the design, materials, and markings, this chaise longue can plausibly be dated to the late 1970s or early 1980s.

condition: good, original condition with age-related patina. The chrome-plated steel frame shows slight signs of wear without any structural damage. The elastic upholstery is complete and functional. The white leather exhibits age-related discoloration, fine creases, minor scratches and abrasions, and signs of use. The black headrest is well-preserved. The base shows slight signs of use. Overall, authentic condition with age-appropriate patina.
