Facing the Limitless draws on Byung-Chul Han’s diagnosis of the contemporary “achievement society,” where freedom is no longer experienced as release but as a demand: to choose, to optimise, to keep becoming. The horizon here is not a destination; it’s an expanding field of possibility that offers no resistance, and in doing so, produces a particular kind of pressure. In Han’s terms, power works through positivity: not “you must not,” but “you can,” “you should,” “you could,” until the self turns into its own manager and disciplinarian. Within this boundless space, the figure reads less as a portrait than as a symbolic state. identity softened by constant motion, agency dispersed across endless options. The image asks what happens when choice multiplies faster than meaning, when attention is fragmented, and the interior life becomes overexposed to possibility. It points to an internal captivity shaped not by external limits, but by the obligation to continually self-define. Medium & Process Created through an analogue photographic process and produced as an archival pigment print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta. The baryta coating supports deep D-max and crisp micro-contrast, preserving the finest dune striations and the soft transitions of snow-toned midtones without flattening detail. Each print is signed and numbered by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
