The repoussé technique gives the figures a remarkable three-dimensionality, which seems to emerge from the plate. The surface is treated with a burnished patina that creates plays of light and shadow, enhancing the animals' musculature and the chiseled details. The artist's signature "Cellini" is engraved on the front, lower right.
