A serene late 19th-century carved wooden statue of the Virgin Mary, executed in the traditional devotional style associated with Notre-Dame de Lourdes iconography.

The sculpture features a gently inclined head, folded hands in prayer and a delicate metal halo adorned with stars. The original polychrome surface in soft blue and white tones shows beautifully aged wear, revealing layers of history and authentic patina. Traces of gilding remain visible along the neckline and drapery edges.

Hand-carved from solid wood and retaining its original painted surface, this piece has not been over-restored. The natural craquelure and time-worn finish enhance its sculptural presence and decorative appeal.

Likely produced in Central Europe (Southern Germany / Austria) or Northern France around 1880–1900, intended for ecclesiastical or private devotional use.
