Vinterior +1 • late art deco and then pre-modern shapes: bells, cylindrical or ovoid lanterns, sometimes with three superimposed elements. 1stdibs +1 • brass or bronze mount, sometimes patinated, with simple but refined ironwork (turned rings, small rosettes, straight stems). Etsy +1 • a single socket (often e27) for the lanterns; wiring may need to be redone or may already be on pieces that have been re-sold. Authentic murano glass • handcrafted imperfections: presence of fine, natural air bubbles (not excessive), rough pontil mark on the base or on the blown elements, slightly variable thickness – signs of lead-free handwork, prohibited in murano. Bladder-crystals +1 • opaline and quality: for 1940 opaline, a dense, milky texture that is translucent in light, vibrant colors throughout (not painted on the surface); patterns such as ballotton or regular, precise internal veins, impossible to reproduce industrially.
