This modular domino wall sculpture is executed in foam clay and acrylic on a black painted wood panel. The composition pairs a deep matte ground with a sculpted white shell and two glossy yellow yolks, emphasising contrast between flat paint and protruding relief. Texture is central: the foam clay registers the artist’s gestures, subtle fingerprints and sculpted edges that modulate light and shadow. The piece reads as both painting and low-relief sculpture — a hybrid wall sculpture where materiality and color define the pictorial field. Modular domino and foam clay appear repeatedly as formal motifs throughout the series, and the twin-yolk fried-egg motif recurs as a playful signifier within the work. Conceptually the panel belongs to Vera Vizzi’s Domino series, a set of modular domino wall sculptures that explore repetition, game logic and corporeal metamorphosis. The object’s domestic, slightly absurd iconography — the fried-egg as sculptural sign — sits alongside formal concerns: surface gesture, relief, scale and rhythm. Viewed together with other pieces from the Domino series the work can be combined into linear or grid installations; the modular domino format allows panels to be scaled and recomposed for site-specific arrangements. In this context the twin-yolk motif functions as visual punctuation, a repeated sculptural device that links humor and material inquiry without explicit narrative.
