This wooden wall panel features the Seven Gods of Good Fortune as finely carved miniature relief portraits.
Dimensions: height 24 cm, width 85 cm, depth 5 cm.
The imagery refers to the Seven Gods of Good Fortune, a beloved motif in Japan associated with prosperity, protection, and luck. from left to right: Hotei, Jurojin, Fukurokuju, Bishamonten, Benzaiten, Daikokuten, and Ebisu. Each face represents a different aspect of good fortune: contentment and abundance; longevity and wisdom; status and happiness; protection and strength; the arts and knowledge; wealth and domestic prosperity; and success in trade.
Today, this panel works beautifully as a characterful interior accent above a tansu or sideboard, in an entryway as a welcoming piece, or as a striking element in a gallery wall. It also suits a studio or shop setting as a subtle nod to positive energy and growth.
