A very interesting an unusual pair of chairs by Ligna. After the second world war Ligna was established as a state foreign trade organisation for producing and exporting mainly wood-related products to manage exports and generate hard currency for the state. Produced in the Czech republic, the region had a strong legacy in bentwood furniture, dating back to Michael Thonet’s factory established there in the 19th century. After nationalization, these factories (including the one now known as TON) were nationalised. These chairs date from the 1950’s, a very classic elegant shape with a rich honey colour and character. We service and wax each chair before it leaves our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality. Seat Height: 47cm. Workshop Report: Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
