A high quality ceramic art candleholder, created by the renown German ceramic artist Helma Klett (1908-1996) around 1960.
The impressive sculptural object has an impressive glaze in hues of rust-red which is accentuated by an modernist decor.
It is signed with the logo of Helma Klett's ceramic workshop. The vase comes from an ambitious private art collection.
Helma Klett was trained by the renown ceramist Siegfried Graham in Römhild during the 1930s. The ceramist founded her artistic pottery workshop in the village of Fredelsloh, Northern Germany in 1940.
She followed the modernist principles of the Bauhaus as well as traditional design in her work and this duality makes it very interesting. This piece has an attribution mark,
