Produced in the united states between 1959 and 1962, this radio represents the last generation of vacuum tube models made by zenith radio company, before the advent of transistor versions. The b600 belongs to the famous 600 trans-oceanic series, which features: a slide-rule dial for improved readability and tuning accuracy; an integrated wave magnet antenna for shortwave reception; coverage of seven radio bands, including medium wave and numerous shortwave bands; and a rugged construction with a case and integrated handle, designed for portable use. At the time, these devices were considered among the best performing in the world for long-distance reception.
