Handsome and very well executed Mid 20th C. Cubist Still Life - original oil on board.
Bottles - perhaps a bar scene - leading with good red, blue, gold, green, and of course period perfect orange. Not too bright, not too shiny - just right.
27" tall by 23" wide by 1" deep.
Presented in a fine period gold gilt frame with linen liner - confirms it is gallery worthy and anchors it for sure.
Artist signed in lower right.
Sourced from a very fine and well travelled Southwest Virginia Estate.

Great looking mid-century art is a wonderful thing. If it's really good, somehow it manages to add zest to everything from Shaker simplicity to Preppy Patterns.
This piece has that rare quality - the colors, the texture, the image - modern but not too abstract - and a quality frame presentation to suggest it is gallery worthy.
It does not match the sofa, and it never will...and that's the whole point! Enjoy!
