The box has a wonderful patina, with some sheen, and a brass latch and hinges. These Chinese boxes were very popular midcentury and this one features a water scene showing a dock and junket, with a floral border. The scented wood will help repel insects and indicates its use for special items. See less

- The box is in very good condition with only a small scratch where I believe the latch touches the top … moreThe box is in very good condition with only a small scratch where I believe the latch touches the top when opening the box. There is no evidence of other significant damage. The latch works properly and has a floral motif on the unpolished brass. The interior hinge has been repaired by me.
