Also created during Kasia Kręcicka's Texas residency in October 2023, this painting captures something different from the others in the collection — a feeling of things being worked out in real time. Dark gestural marks move across raw canvas with confidence, interrupted by warm golden yellow accents that feel almost like moments of clarity breaking through.
There's an honesty to how it's made that's immediately apparent. The untreated canvas isn't just a background — it's an active part of the composition, the unpainted areas holding just as much intention as the marks themselves. That push and pull between action and restraint is what gives the piece its energy.
