1980s Steve LeBailly Signed Original Watercolor "Woman on Beach"
This serene original watercolor by late Seattle-based artist and historian Steve LeBailly (1950–2024) captures a tranquil coastal moment. The piece features a figurative study of a woman standing against a backdrop of golden sands and deep blue waves. LeBailly’s characteristic style—a blend of historical reverence and a deep appreciation for the natural world—is evident in the soft washes of color and the contemplative posture of the subject. The artwork is professionally double-matted with a lavender inner accent and housed in a contemporary silver-toned metal frame.
Dimensions:
Frame: 24" W x 19" H x 1" D
Art (Visible): 19.5" W x 14" H
Condition:
Fair vintage condition. The watercolor paper shows visible rippling (buckling) under the glass. There is surface soil and spotting on the left side of the matting. The reverse of the frame shows water staining and foxing on the backing board, consistent with its age and regional climate. The metal frame is sturdy and includes a wire hanger for immediate display.
Provenance:
From a private collection in the Pacific Northwest. Steve LeBailly was a recognized regional artist and historian whose life was dedicated to "the richness of art and history."
A soulful and evocative piece of Pacific Northwest regional art, this framed original by Steve LeBailly is a beautiful addition to any coastal-themed interior or collection of late 20th-century figurative works.
