*ABOUT A DOUBLE WARRANT: A "double warrant" teacup refers to a vintage Paragon fine bone china cup and saucer from 1939-1949, featuring a prestigious backstamp indicating it was officially commissioned or approved by two(2) members of the British Royal Family (usually Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary). These highly prized, collectible pieces represent top-tier quality and royal endorsement. The backstamp often says "By Appointment to H.M. The Queen and H.M. Queen Mary" Double warrants are more esteemed than single warrants, showing the company held appointments for two royals. Paragon china was manufactured by the Star China Company, which founded in 1897 in England. The company began using the "Paragon" trade name around 1903 before officially becoming the Paragon China Company in 1919.It produced as a brand until 1960, when it was acquired by the wild group, then later by Royal Doulton and later becoming part of the Royal Albert brand.
*ABOUT THE CUP & SAUCER: Beautiful vintage Paragon English fine bone china footed teacup and saucer set in light green. This pattern is called "To The Bride". It features lily of the valley flowers, a horseshoe for good luck and garlands of wedding bells. The exterior of the cup is pure white with a gold center accent line and 22K gold edging on all the rimming including the handle! The matching saucer comes with the cup. This pattern is highly collectible due to their historical connection to the monarchy, the quality of Paragon English fine bone china, and the limited timeframe of their production of this design. It was marketed as an elegant wedding or bridal shower gift. The inclusion of the Royal Warrant on the bottom was a mark of "royal radiance" that made it a sought after gift for brides of that era!
