“Assemblage 102” is an original mixed-media wall sculpture by artist Craig Griffin.
Measuring 13.5” high by 14” wide, the work is constructed within a solid sapele hardwood framework and features a dense architectural field of electronic components unified in a hand-applied copper-toned patina.
The composition explores the intersection of technology and material craft. Each mechanical element is individually selected and arranged to create a tightly structured architectural band across the center of the piece. The metallic surface catches light subtly, revealing layered texture and tonal variation from different viewing angles.
The surrounding sapele frame introduces warmth and restraint. Known for its rich grain and depth of tone, the hardwood provides a refined counterbalance to the intricate industrial interior.
