Vintage Danish mid century modern Model 156 dining, desk, or accent chair, produced by Søborg Møbelfabrik c. 1950s. The mix of teak and oak provides a wonderful contrast in colors and grain patterns while the paper cord seats add another dimension of visual texture.
Mogensen’s pieces often combine elements of Shaker construction – such as the mortise and tenon joinery at the top of the front leg posts – with Danish modern aesthetic, making his designs highly distinctive and stylistically versatile.
The chair is structurally solid with light vintage wear throughout. The paper cord seat was recently rewoven.
