Mid 20th Century Lightolier Ufo Lamp by Gerald Thurston

There are two cracks at the top of the neck and part of the rim is chipped by the bulb socket. Where one crack is, the plastic appears to have a slight bump which looks to have caused the crack. However, these are not noticeable once the shade is in place. The plastic shade and base have maintained their color very well. The shade is perfectly white and the metal grate has very minimal discoloration. There is a dark spot in the center of the grate (due to heat from the light bulb) on the inner area that faces the bulb. This is also not noticeable from the outside. The brown base has a few small spots of wear with only one that is a chip. There is a small round indent in the plastic shade but it's very minimal and hard to notice (shown in 4th photo). It is recommended to use an LED bulb since they produce almost not heat which will help preserve the plastic neck and keep it from cracking further. This is the original wiring. Even though the lamp is in working condition, for safety it should be rewired due to its age.
