A masterful example of American craftsmanship, this roll-top desk and matching swivel chair were hand-built in 2000 by artisan woodworkers in Ohio. Combining 19th-century classicism with turn-of-the-millennium durability, this set is constructed entirely of solid North American Oak. It is a functional work of art designed to serve as the organizational anchor of a home office or library. The back is not finished so the piece cannot float in the room. There is no lock on the desk.
The desk features a classic "S-curve" tambour (roll-top) that glides smoothly to reveal a fully outfitted interior gallery with solid wood organizer drawers and pigeonhole cubbies. The lower pedestals offer ample storage, including deep file drawers.
The accompanying chair is a a traditional Windsor-style "Captain’s Chair" adapted for modern utility with a swivel base, pneumatic height adjustment, and rolling casters. Chair Dimensions: Overall Width-21” Overall Depth 17” -Seat 15” wide X 14 1/2” deep. Seat height is adjustable. Arm is 8” high from seat base.
The knee space is 23” wide X 26” high.
