Amazing great antique condition. Based on research this estate sale purchase indicates that the hand-painted characters and the specific wording (maker's mark) this creamer/pitcher dates to the Nippon period (1891–1921).

The "Nippon" Era: The mark 川日本 (Kawanippon) is a stylized version of "Dai Nippon" (Great Japan), a patriotic signature used almost exclusively during the Meiji (1868–1912) and Taisho (1912–1926) periods. It features an orange glaze with Moriage, a technique using raised slip to create a 3D effect depicting a dragon.

These items are highly sought after by collectors of Oriental ceramics

Genuine antique pieces from this era often feature highly detailed Moriage (raised enamel) that wraps around the entire vessel. The absence of gold gilding is not uncommon; some studios focused on matte finishes or specific color.
