The portraits are executed in hand-painted enamel with fine brushwork and pooling visible in details such as the medals, epaulettes, jewelry, and facial features. Each plaque is set within an incised trompe-l’œil architectural surround imitating stone voussoirs, with recessed joints and translucent washes to create a marble-like effect. Housed under glass with decorative oval bezels and simple hanging loops on the reverse. Likely French, circa 1880–1900.

Each frame measures approximately. 6" high x 5" wide.

Paintings and frames in excellent condition; paper covered backs have some staining.
