A large hand-blown iridescent art glass swan sculpture by American studio glass artist Stuart Abelman. This contemporary studio work features a gracefully arched neck, pulled wings, and a substantial clear and cobalt-toned body with luminous internal striping.
Made of hand-blown art glass with controlled internal cobalt blue striping and white ribbon inclusions. The body displays a pronounced optical swirl pattern, encased in clear glass with a subtle iridescent surface sheen. The sculptural wings and elongated neck are fluidly pulled and formed in the hot shop tradition. The base is solid and polished. The piece is signed and dated on the underside: “Abelman" and "1998,” confirming authorship and year of execution.
