This painting, titled 'Castelsardo, Sardinia' and dated 1978, captures the stunning hillside village of Castelsardo on the northern coast of the Italian island. Bathed in Mediterranean light, the clustered white houses with red roofs climb the slope toward a prominent medieval fortress. A golden field stretches out in the foreground, with the deep blue of the sea glimmering in the distance.
