This is a stunning Antique 19th Century Bronze Seated Figure, certified as authentic from Myanmar (Burma), Mandalay style. The figure is depicted kneeling or sitting in a regal pose, wearing elaborate royal attire and a pointed crown (sikhara), with hands clasped in the anjali mudra (gesture of reverence or respect). The detailed ornamentation on the shoulders, chest, and skirt is characteristic of royal Burmese art, often representing the Buddha in his princely form or a deva (celestial being/spirit).
Purchased in Bangkok, Thailand, in August 1992 for US $1,400.00, this piece comes with the original sales receipt and an Authentication Certificate from River Trade Co. Ltd., confirming its 19th-century date and Mandalay/Burma style. The bronze has developed a beautiful, varied patina over time, indicating its age and authenticity. This is a rare and highly collectible piece of Southeast Asian religious art, perfect for a collector of bronze statuary, Buddhist art, or antiques with documented provenance. Please note the figure is mounted on a modern custom wood base.
