Designed and produced by renowned Brazilian designer Percival Lafer, who is most famous for his modernist seating creations which combine plush leather upholstered seating forms that appear to float atop low-profile structures. This bold offering is called the Earth chair, an organic design with a firm focus on ergonomic comfort and luxury. This chair was manufactured by Lafer MP (Moveis Patenteados) during the 1970s and is model MP-163 or "Earth Chair". This gorgeous vintage chair & ottoman set is a stellar find and sure to be the star of your living space or office.
Measurements: 34" wide, 28" deep, 54" high, 15" seat height. Ottoman is 28" wide, 20" deep, 16" high.
Condition: Overall, this classic piece of vintage Brazilian modernist design displays beautifully. The chair features a fluid bucket seat raised on flat bar chromed steel legs in a sleigh design. The seating form retains its original plush foam structure and the original leather has been reconditioned, though it shows some gentle wear and patina throughout; mostly concentrated on the edges of the seat, adding to its vintage and well-loved charm. The chrome is in good condition with minimal blemishes. The original import tag remains on the dust cover below the ottoman.
