He combines elements of cubism, pop art and graffiti painting in his work. Britto has lived in Miami, Florida since 1989. Shortly after Britto arrived in the United States, Michel Roux, founder of Absolut Vodka's Absolut Art Ad Campaign, happened by Britto's first studio in Coconut Grove, Florida. Roux quickly asked Britto to reinterpret the famous bottle, which would be published and seen by millions. Lithograph Serigraph and oil painting and Acrylic on canvas are his preferred mediums. Consistently challenging himself, Britto has completed other corporate works for Movado, Disney, Enrico Coveri, Pepsi, the United Nations, BMW and Royal Caribbean Cruises. Britto has one main art gallery in Miami, on South Beach on Lincoln Road. Although often compared to Keith Haring, Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, Romero Britto is a young artist who has emerged with his own imagery and a unique style that is in fact re-defining Pop Art today. Britto's paintings capture the ecstasy of the imagination. His spontaneity and playfulness executed with vibrant colors and blatantly unconventional daring formulas have the ability to appear almost childlike in their style. Albeit upon further observation his abstract constructions and highly sophisticated formations reveal his fundamental command of space, color and the visual experience. In 1989, Romero Britto's work was brought to the attention of Michel Roux, former U.S. importer of Absolut Vodka and creator of their legendary advertising campaign. As a result, Britto was crowned their newest showcase artist along with other contemporary art heavy weights such as Ed Ruscha, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Damien Hirst, Kenny Scharf and more. Britto's worldwide exposure propelled his inevitable rise to becoming one of today's most celebrated and recognizable young artists. See less
