He depicts the front gates of the Tremont Temple, Bronx New York from 1939. The artist uses local colors and gestural watercolor techniques. A New York City watercolorist, Ganz studied at CCNY (B.S., 1919; M.A. in art educ., 1930s); and ASL; Grand Central Art School. He exhibited at AWCS; Audubon artists; ACA Gal.; Bronx Artists Guild; Bronx County Hist. Soc.; Salons of Am., 1936; S. Indp. A., 1936-38, 1940-42; New School, Waterfront Art Show," 1937; M. Scherer Gal. (Mount Vernon, NY), 1990s" From the 1930s-1981, he took to the city streets to delineate in vibrant watercolors every aspect of the city's cultural, religious, civic, historic, industrial-economic, and natural resources in over 1,500 New York City street scenes and landmarks. Later he produced 1,200 more watercolors on walks through Central Park and the West Side. His style was naive, with loose colorful brushwork. See less
