In –26°C conditions, with harsh coastal winds, the scene becomes an encounter with weather as a sculptor—air and cold compressing the surface into a smooth, shifting relief. Tonal layers drift across the frame like sedimented time: pale gradients, faint ridges, and sparse winter grasses punctuating the expanse. The dunes read as both terrain and abstraction—an elemental canvas shaped in real time by pressure, wind, and freeze. Medium & Process Created through an analogue photographic process and produced as an archival pigment print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta. The baryta coating supports deep D-max and crisp micro-contrast, preserving the finest dune striations and the soft transitions of snow-toned midtones without flattening detail.
