Wonderful early 19th-century French Boucherie billot de boucher (butcher shop butcher block), with solid beechwood block top resting on a beautiful aged patina walnut carved apron and fluted turned legs. The monumental butcher's top, formed from end-grain wood, has developed a richly textured surface from decades of use — a true testament to its working history.
Created in Provence, this substantial block features two functional drawers with brass ring pulls, large brass corner mounts, and sculpted apron detailing that speaks to the elegant craftsmanship of its era.
