Benjamin Pagart lives and works amidst the vibrant cultural energy of his Parisian studio, while Yves draws inspiration from the natural beauty of the Lot Valley, near Cahors. Their pieces are the result of a creative fusion of their respective worlds. With a post modernist, naive, folk art quality to them. They collect everything that can inspire them in the mineral, organic and plant world: pebbles, fossils, bones, leaves, flowers, branches, shells and even a raccoon! This is in the tradition of the whimsical, functional, and nature-inspired art of Les Lalanne (François-Xavier Lalanne and Claude Lalanne) as well as Garouste and Bonetti, Gerard Rigot, Wendell Castle, Line Vautrin, Niki de Saint Phalle This was inspired by the Surrealism movement in particular René Magritte, Salvador Dali and Man Ray.
