Plongee Dans Ma Pensee 2005 Acrylic painting on canvas Hand signed and dated Dimensions: 32'' x 51'', (81 x 130 cm) Provenance: The Encyclopaedia Iranica Foundation Collection Born in Tehran, Iran Shahla Dadsetan is an architect. She has practiced in Germany, Iran, and France, and has lived in Paris since 1980. In 2000, she decided to dedicate herself entirely to painting. Her art is born from gesture and movement, synonymous for the artist with a perpetually expanding universe. This gestural approach allows her to access her inner tensions, forces, and energies, drawing the viewer into colorful meanders reminiscent of the landscapes of Antelope Canyon in the United States. Shahla Dadsetan has exhibited her work extensively, notably in Paris at the Carrousel du Louvre, the Grand Palais, and the Carreau du Temple during the Paris Contemporary Art Show by Yia Art Fair . In 2007, she received a medal from the Société Arts-Sciences-Lettres in Paris in recognition of her work, which contributes to "the dissemination of culture in the artistic, literary, and scientific fields.
