James Yohe painted this bold, deep red and blue powerful and beautiful original painting on canvas in 1980. It has Postmodernist elements and would go well with 1980's style furniture such as Memphis Milano. James Yohe was born in 1944 in San Francisco, California, United States. Education: Bachelor of Fine Arts, University New Mexico, 1968. Postgraduate, Rutgers University, 1972. Career: Executive director, Andre Emmerich Gallery, New York City, since 1990. James Yun Yohe has been listed as a noteworthy Art gallery director, art dealer by Marquis Who's Who. Currently a Director at Miles McEnery Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in New York City. The gallery is the evolution of Ameringer McEnery Yohe where McEnery was a partner and the managing director. He is a specialist in Post-War American Art, Abstract Expressionism, Color-Field, Hard-Edge, and related painting, Blue chip artist's such as Helen Frankenthaler, Al Held, Hans Hofmann, Morris Louis, Robert Motherwell, John McLaughlin, Kenneth Noland, and Jules Olitski, among notable others. He was an exhibiting artist in the late 70's and early 80's. his screen prints and lithographs occasionally come up. His paintings very rarely. He worked in acrylic and oil paint in a Abstract Expressionist style influenced by Pop Art, somewhat reminiscent of James Rosenquist. He showed at the prestigious Grace Hokin Gallery in Palm Beach as well as in NY galleries. See less
