Framed cast paper relief sculpture, William Haendel 1981
Crisp relief of a marching band, with remarkable details seen on the instruments and uniforms. The musicians are in step, mirroring the figures of the Egyptian reliefs that inspired Haendel. The paper was made by the artist, and then pressed into a carved mold to form the bas relief.
Signed "Haendel" [William (Bill) Haendel (1926-2020)] and "81" in lower right corner.
Framed piece measures 21" wide, 9: tall and about 1.25" deep. Shadow box like frame.
Art measures 18" wide and between 5.5 and 6" tall.
Both the art and the frame are in good condition. Some yellowing to the paper. Some torn backing paper on the reverse.
