A spectacular and rare 1940s English fairground panel from the center of a merry-go-round, featuring a dramatic large-scale nautical oil painting of a tall ship at sea. Richly detailed with billowing sails and cresting waves, this vintage carnival piece is framed by ornate hand-painted scrollwork in gilt tones against a deep blue ground.
Painted on masonite and set within its original wood frame, the panel retains its iron hooks affixed to the top—remnants of its fairground installation—adding to its authentic character and industrial charm.
