An early 19th century Neoclassical birch mirror featuring exceptional verre églomisé and parcel-gilt ornamentation.
The architectural frame is constructed in warm-toned birch with applied gilt decorative mounts and classical detailing. The upper and lower panels are reverse-painted on glass (verre églomisé), depicting mythological scenes in gold against black grounds — a hallmark of refined Empire-period design.
The tall, narrow proportions and restrained classical symmetry make this an elegant statement for an entry, powder room, or layered above a console.
Retaining original antique character, including age-consistent wear to the gilding and cracking to the églomisé panels, which enhances its authenticity and decorative depth.
