Bump is a Vermont-based wood sculptor best known for her stylized modernist wood jewelry boxes of various animal forms crafted in the 1970s and 1980s.
This large owl box bump used burl maple in contrast and mahogany to create a dynamic visual effect. The large owl form is one of the largest of all her boxes and a testament to her design sensibilities and high level of craftsmanship.
